What is the key to Taiwan’s Corona Virus success? Given it’s recent and past massive interaction with Mainland China only 80 miles away! That key is certainly NOT being a member of the Pro-China WHO.
Taiwan does NOT have to prescribe to the pedantic bureaucratic WHO convention and guidance. As soon as it was apparent that the Wuhan Virus was being disseminated to the world Taiwan effectively closed its borders.
Mid-April, the country had merely 400 COVID-19 cases, and 6 deaths. The majority of those cases came into the country from abroad.
Politically interesting is that Trump, no doubt armed with internal intelligence, is now looking at pulling out of the World Health Organization.
Remember Taiwan was never part of it. This is because they were denied membership because of the WHO’s openly pro-China bent.
Taiwan’s CDC warned China and the WHO on December 31, 2019 about possible human-to-human transmission of the new Corona Virus. All along while China was still denying that such transmission was possible.
All of this without shutting down the country and with almost all of its businesses operating. What is Taiwan doing that the rest of the world is missing?
Remember Taiwan at the end of last year, before any other country, started the process of restricted travel from China. If only the rest of the world had not been so badly misled by the lack of candor from China regarding the Wuhan virus.
To my mind, the horror is internally China restricting travel from Wuhan. Yet apparently continuing to promote and allow travel not only from Wuhan but from everywhere in China to the rest of the world. This is the wholesale exporting of a world nightmare.
Maybe the SARS outbreak some 15 years ago created some natural immunity through Taiwan’s preparedness for a repeat instead of leaving it for the next administration.
Whether there was mindfulness in the Wuhan Lab for development of a Biological Warfare Weapon, and the stage of such development. If there was mismanagement of a virus that could readily escape. All salutary questions. These with a backdrop of apparent misinformation, denial and deception.
For a deadly virus to escape and be managed the WHO has to promptly act.
There are many who say this United Nations Health organization is effectively owned by China. China owns Ethiopia! It does not take much to connect the dots!
Taiwan had the 2003 SARS (another Corona Virus) outbreak experience from China.
This SARS experience has given them a healthy mistrust of China and the World Health Organization to accurately report facts of this nature.
Unlike the U.S. and others, Taiwan did not quarantine their entire nation. They focused on quarantining travelers from abroad in their own homes. This while the rest of the nation largely went about their business.
They kept Taiwan open, and did not destroy their economy.
Personally believe intrinsically their peoples have a healthy lifestyle.
Plus as they are in a sunshine belt there is no lack of Vitamin D a valuable Modality largely missing in much of the US.

What is absolutely certain is that the WHO cannot take credit for Taiwan’s success. They never successfully developed a vaccine for SARS, but they have successfully kept Taiwan out of the clubhouse. By every theory, that should have put Taiwan at a disadvantage but because they are willing to make the upfront investment, it does not seem like they will have to pay the higher price that the rest of the world is facing.
